By the skin of their teeth, Hull City retained their place in the Premier League for next season. Not bad for the only league team whose full name contains no letters that can be coloured in, but their chances of survival next season look bleak. My now complete for the season ratings has the Tigers rated 19th. Obviously close-season personnel changes can cause problems carrying ratings over from one season to the next, but it's a starting point at least. It's hard to believe that the season is (pretty much) over already. Football seasons these days go by a lot quicker than in my youth.

In Scotland Rangers held their nerve on the final day to clinch the title, and had the top rating in Scotland. St Mirren had the lowest rating in the Scottish Premier, but it was Inverness CT who went down after a disastrous final day loss at home to Falkirk, who consequently saved themselves and can enjoy their defeat against Rangers in the Scottish Cup Final next Saturday.
