The break in top league action provides a good opportunity to look at how the leagues are performing this season compared to previous seasons.
There are some interesting trends being seen with every league (top five in England, plus Serie A, La Liga, Ligue 1 and Bundesliga) having at least one statistic at either a high or a low when compared with the previous 10 seasons.
That in itself is remarkable enough, but in fact, all but one League has at least two statistics at highs or lows, (although categories are not independent, so that's not necessarily as exciting as it seems), and with 22.6% of the season gone, some of the trends are worth noting.
In some leagues, the low number of matches played so far could mean that the fixture list has played a part, but it is very strange that so many extremes are being seen.
I would be surprised if you could NOT find a statistic at new highs or lows, given the almost infinite number of statistics one could come up with
