Hopefully some of you followed my European Champions League tips, which had a pretty good week. The Tottenham Hotspur price looks about right, slightly short actually, as is the price on Lazio which means the draw is the value bet in this one. I have it priced at 3.36, but 3.75 is available. As you might have expected, I think there will be less goals in this game than the market expects, which makes the Unders another way to play this one.

I knew I shouldn't have mentioned reality trading for a TV show. Less than a week later and I receive an email  telling me of an opportunity which some of you may be interested in pursuing. It's courtesy of City Index and Arena Media, and you have almost another week to apply. No mention of the split screen idea though, but it'll come. I know it. If you qualify, do come back and tell us about your experiences.

The competition will take place over six weeks as eight traders battle it out to win a fantastic cash prize of £100,000*.

The series will be broadcast online in an interactive environment allowing the audience to trade along with contestants. It will be syndicated on YouTube and across the internet via premium online media partners.

Beginning 6 September 2012, City Index is inviting the best aspiring traders from around the UK, from seasoned pros to those with no financial experience. Eight lucky applicants will be selected and given an opportunity that could change their lives.

Deadline for applications is 23.59 BST on 24 September 2012. Applicants must be available for weekly filming for eight weeks beginning with October 9th 2012.

Selected traders will be invited to London and given instruction by leading market analysts. They will embark on a six-week journey, learning new skills each week as they face trading challenges in different live markets.

Traders will be judged based on their notional profits and losses on a live test account, as well as their use of new principles, and will face elimination by the judging panel each week. In the final week, surviving traders will go head to head to win £100,000*.

They had a TV show a while ago similar to this, it was called 'Million Dollar traders' and was broadcast a few years ago. Participants were given a trading crash course and then had to go and make money from a 1 million dollar start up.
